The terms
of our agreement

These Terms of Use govern your use of designerrughouse.com and every purchase or commission placed through it. The site is operated by Designer Rug House, a brand of Quantum Creations Studio. By using the site or placing an order you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Designer Rug House offers hand-knotted rugs (stock and custom), pashminas, t-shirts (stock and custom-printed), and a paid Design Preview service that renders your sketch as a realistic rug mockup. Every piece is made by hand by skilled artisans in Nepal. Photographs on the site are representative; minor variation in colour, weave, knot density, and finishing is part of the craft and not a defect.

All prices on the site are listed in United States Dollars (USD) and are clearly marked as such. Prices are inclusive of international shipping and import handling on our side; any local sales tax, customs duty, or import tax that your own country imposes on receipt is your responsibility.

Stripe processes the payment in USD; your bank may convert it to your local currency at its own exchange rate.

We may change prices for new orders at any time. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time you complete checkout (for online payments) or the price agreed in writing for custom commissions.

Stock rugs, pashminas, and pre-printed t-shirts are paid for in full at checkout via Stripe. We pack and ship from Nepal; international delivery typically takes 1–3 weeks depending on the destination. The tracking link in your confirmation email shows live status.

Custom rugs are commissioned individually and require upfront discussion. The agreed price, size, design, colour palette, estimated delivery window, and shipping address are recorded on your order at the time we create it.

50/50 split payment. A 50% advance is required before production begins. The remaining 50% is due before the rug ships. We will not advance an order to the “shipped” stage until the final payment is recorded.

Production timeline. Hand-knotted rugs typically take 3–4 months to weave by hand on a traditional Nepalese loom. The estimated delivery window shown on your tracking page reflects current workshop capacity. Genuine delays occasionally happen due to yarn supply, wool dyeing batches, weather, or shipping disruptions — we’ll keep you informed.

Cancellations after production starts. Once we have received the 50% advance and yarn has been dyed for your specific rug, the order cannot be cancelled and the advance is non-refundable except where required by law. The artisan’s labour and dyed materials cannot be reused.

The Design Preview service is a paid mockup. You upload a sketch, photo, or pattern; we render a realistic mockup of your design as a hand-knotted rug, typically within 3–5 business days.

The Design Preview fee is for the mockup service only. It is not credited toward a subsequent custom rug order, and is non-refundable once we have begun work, which we do shortly after payment is received.

Custom t-shirts are produced to order at a flat per-piece price. After payment, our team reviews your design within 1–2 business days for printability. We may contact you if a small adjustment is needed before production.

Once printing has begun, the order cannot be cancelled and is non-refundable except for our error or a manufacturing defect.

By uploading any sketch, photograph, pattern, or other file to the site, you confirm that:

• you own the design or have the necessary permission to have it reproduced as a physical product;
• the content does not infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
• the content is not unlawful, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.

You retain ownership of your design. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the design solely to produce, ship, and audit your order, and to keep internal records of the commission. We will not display, resell, or share your design publicly without your written consent.

We reserve the right to refuse any commission whose content we believe to be unlawful, infringing, or inconsistent with the brand. In that case we’ll refund the order in full and explain why.

We ship worldwide. The price you see on the site includes international shipping and our handling of customs export paperwork. Once a parcel reaches your country, any local import duty, VAT, sales tax, or brokerage fee is payable by you on delivery and is set by your country’s customs authorities, not by us.

Delivery dates are estimates; we are not liable for carrier delays, customs holds, or events outside our reasonable control. We will keep you informed and help where we can.

Stock orders: small changes (typo in shipping address, etc.) can usually be made if you contact us within 24 hours of ordering and before the parcel has shipped.

Custom orders: design, size, and colour are locked once production begins. Address changes can be made up until the order leaves the workshop. Email designerhouseandcrafts@gmail.com with your order ID.

Stock items. If a stock rug, pashmina, or t-shirt arrives and isn’t right, contact us within 14 days of delivery. We’ll arrange return instructions and issue a refund once the item is received in original condition. Outbound and return international shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer’s cost; for our error or defective items, we cover return shipping and refund or replace.

Custom rugs. Non-refundable once production has begun, except for manufacturing defects or significant deviation from the agreed design. Defects must be reported within 14 days of delivery with photographs.

Design Preview & Custom T-shirts. Non-refundable once work has begun. Refunds are issued only for our error.

All refunds are processed back to the original payment method via Stripe (or by bank wire for wire-transfer orders). Stripe refunds typically arrive within 5–10 business days. Wire refunds typically arrive within 3–7 business days, subject to your bank.

Every rug we sell is hand-knotted, hand-trimmed, and hand-finished by individual artisans. Slight variations in size (±2%), knot density, colour, and finishing are intrinsic to the craft and are not defects. Photographs on the site are taken under controlled lighting; the rug you receive is part of the same craft tradition but will have its own subtle character.

The Designer Rug House name, logo, original designs, photographs, and website content are owned by Quantum Creations Studio. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without written permission, except for ordinary personal use of the site for browsing and ordering.

The site is provided on an “as is” basis. We make reasonable efforts to keep product descriptions, prices, photographs, and stock counts accurate, but we don’t guarantee they are free of error. If a price obviously appears to be wrong (for example a $1 rug), we reserve the right to cancel and refund the order rather than honour the mistaken price.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Designer Rug House and Quantum Creations Studio are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site or any product purchased through it. Our maximum liability for any claim related to a product is the amount you paid for that product. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited (including for fraud or for personal injury caused by negligence).

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that the parties cannot resolve by friendly discussion will be brought before the courts of Manitoba. This clause does not deprive a consumer of any protection they have under the law of their country of residence where that law cannot be excluded by contract.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in full force. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any order-specific written agreement, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the site.

We may update these terms as the business evolves or the law requires. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. The terms in effect on the day you place an order are the ones that apply to that order.
